First off, my name is Jenn.

I’m a Graphic Designer by trade. I went to college and have a BA in Graphic Design (like that matters these days — it seems anyone can be a designer…), and have struggled to find a full-time permanent job doing what I love. I have designed a few websites for local talent and businesses. Most recently I designed a poster and a postcard for a local historical society’s exhibit (The Laconia Historical & Museum Society) as well as a 3′x5′ banner for a cheerleading competition to benefit The March of Dimes.

Full-time, I most recently worked in Business-to-Business sales. I was a Partner Representative/Business Growth Specialist at Deluxe Corp. in Groton, MA. I receivec incoming calls from Small Business across the United States, and processed their orders as they need. I also tried to help them understand the importance of branding themselves, and making themselves stand out as a business. Anyone can start a business, but it’s the way that you run your business and promote yourself that makes you a successful business owner.

I recently started work in the Art/Composition department at the same company. I work in the Logo department, making sure everyone’s files are press-ready. We work with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and QuarkXpress as well as some proprietary software programs to make sure our customers artwork is composed on the correct templates with the correct separations and colors. If a customer has messy, blurry or pixelated art, I have to redraw it in Illustrator and set their text correctly. It’s not glamorous, but I’m using the programs that I’m familiar with and I’m learning even more about them everyday.

I was born and raised in Nashua, NH, only leaving for a short time to go to college at Keene State College (for four years). While in Keene I made some amazing friends, and had some awesome opportunities, including being given the chance to travel to Spain and teach at a summer camp in the Pyranees Mountains (Fun & Learn Summer Camp). Currently, I’m working on my MBA in Marketing at Rivier College in Nashua – I just started and I have quite a ways to go, but I’m doing it.
